Empowering through Education

In today's world, it is essential to promote education and provide opportunities for children to gain knowledge and skills that can help them lead a better life. However, not every child has access to education due to various reasons, including poverty, social inequality, and discrimination. One such group of children who often miss out on education opportunities are those whose parents are suffering from leprosy.

Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. The disease mainly affects the skin, nerves, and eyes, and if left untreated, can cause severe disabilities. Unfortunately, leprosy is still prevalent in many countries, and the stigma associated with the disease often leads to discrimination and social exclusion of people affected by it, including their children.

To address this issue, an organization named 'Divya Prem Seva Mission' have come up with innovative ways to provide education opportunities to children whose parents are affected by leprosy. The organization has been successful in providing education opportunities to hundreds of children whose parents are affected by leprosy. They cover all expenses related to the child's education, including school fees, books, uniforms, and other materials. The children are also provided with additional support, including counselling and health check-ups, to ensure their overall well-being.
